About Me
My love for live events started at 11 when I began DJing, but it quickly grew into mastering the full production puzzle, especially the logistics that make or break a show.
In high school I ran events across four theaters and designed dozens of productions while managing the entire back-end operation for the district. At 17, I joined Band-Ayd Events Group as an Event Technician and was rapidly promoted to Lead Designer and Operations Manager. There I ran logistics for major clients including the Detroit Lions, Michigan State University, and Detroit Pistons, overseeing warehouse prep, load-ins/outs, crew scheduling, and on-site execution while also designing lighting and effects for concerts, sports events, dance competitions, and weddings.
After a few years honing my business and operations expertise, I returned to the industry in 2021 as a freelance Production Manager and Lighting Designer. I have worked 1,000+ capacity rooms across the Detroit area, advancing shows, programming lighting files, consulting on venue plots, and delivering the kind of festival-level logistics that keep multi-day events running smoothly.
In 2022 I stepped in as Production Manager at AV7 Productions, rebuilding workflows, improving warehouse operations, and serving as the trusted liaison between promoters and national tour crews.
In 2024 I founded TeamRoy, a logistics provider specializing in the live events space. TeamRoy focuses on reliable transportation, specialized event hauling, and full logistics support for festivals, concerts, tradeshows, and more — allowing me to bring even deeper operational expertise and resources to every project I take on.
Today I continue to freelance independently as a Production Manager and Lighting Designer, while running TeamRoy. This dual focus lets me blend high-impact creative lighting design with rock-solid production management and logistics expertise, turning your vision into a stress-free, perfectly executed reality.
